Scribeasy is a helpful and inclusive creative story platform for all types of learners aged 3 to 99 and has a rich array of resources and tools to boost reading, writing, spelling, and vocabulary, enabling better storytelling supported with tools such as speech into text, a personalised thesaurus, an emotions tool, writing support.

Scribeasy offers: a fun, imaginative, and immersive way to build creativity and communication skills—making learning more memorable and effective. Our journey began with a digitised picture scrap-book method. For example, find a tropical setting and make a scene: imagine the warm salty breeze on your skin, the coral shapes laying below the translucent turquoise water, the conversation of the surfer, the sweet scent of tropical flowers,the taste of the coconuts on the trees. There's a power in composing pictures: it is compelling and evocative. Suddenly it's easy to describe by creating art and 'talking for writing: be prepared for surprises! Storytelling is good fun: but in the face of the Fourth Industrial Revolution led by emerging technological advances today's skills shortage is for creativity and digital know-how: Scribeasy offers a story telling approach that's inclusive and meaningful - for anyone. When you try its scene creation, notice how it opens your ideas for deeper exploration. Working through a 'story' is a way to overcome challenges and arrange the pictures differently to foster curiosity, self-understanding and empathy. Scribeasy pulls on areas all across the curriculum, from similes and metaphors in Literacy, scale and positional language in Maths to exploring Science, History and Geography through the partnership with local museums and access to wonderful collections and relics to spark all imaginations.

Scribeasy meets a child where they are at and allows them to select images to not only create stories, but to also give us a window into their inner thinking and emotional state. Scribeasy ignites the visual, creative left brain thinking even when children don’t feel able to access their rational right brain thinking due to trauma, anxiety or distress. This storytelling that starts within the child’s comfort zone allows the child to depersonalise events to process and share their story in a safe, self led space.

Scribeasy is so much more than a literacy tool. Yes, it will extend the most able children through pushing their imagination and creativity as far as it will go while supporting those less confident children find their voice and hone their skills. However, for me, far more importantly, it will reach those children that have been alienated by traditional teaching styles and those that can not fully access the curriculum due to neurodivergence, language/communication barriers, trauma and/or a combination of all three.
